The body of an essay should explain, describe or argue the concepts and ideas that were selected on the preliminary stage of the research. Each primary concept or idea that found its reflection in the previously designed diagram or outline should find its reflection in one of the body paragraphs. It is possible to start each body paragraph by stating the primary idea selected for that paragraph and explain it in detail in the following sentences. It is very important to make an essay "flow", i.e. ensure the smooth transition from one body paragraph to another. This objective can be achieved by means of transitional sentences that prepare the ground for a new paragraph. It is important to follow the previously written outline as it is quite possible to lose the main idea and concentrate on some insignificant, parasite meditations that may prevent the author from the accomplishment of the assignment. It is necessary to remember that the essay should be organized around the purpose, which is the discussion/argumentation/explanation of the topic. Once each of the concepts from the diagram/outline finds its reflection in the body paragraphs, it is possible to proceed with the concluding paragraph. |
